Ryan's Story

Crawling Past Delays

Meet Ryan:

Before coming to Arise Functional Health, Ryan was struggling with a normal crawling pattern, he was 4 months behind the milestone. His delay of crawling was impacting their ability to progress to standing and walking, leaving their family searching for answers.

Initial Concerns: Finding Hope

When Ryan first came to us, his parents were worried about what Ryans future would look like if he didn’t crawl with a normal pattern. His mother who is a Nurse Practitioner knew that importance of a normal crawling pattern and that there are long term potential cognitive side effects if a child doesn’t have a normal crawling pattern. She had already tried physical therapy, but progress was limited. They were looking for a more comprehensive solution that addressed the root causes of their child’s challenges.

The Arise Functional Health Difference  At Arise Functional Health, we took a holistic and individualized approach to Ryan's care. Through our unique combination of:

- Functional Neurology Exercises: Targeting underdeveloped areas of the brain to improve body awareness and create a brain to body connection to his leg that was being dragged during his crawl.

  • Primitive Reflex Integration: Resolving lingering reflexes to enhance motor control.
  • Sensory-Motor Activities: Strengthening the brain-body connection for better coordination and strength in his hip musculature.
  • Chiropractic Care: Supporting the nervous system for optimal communication between the brain and body.
  • Nutrition Guidance: Addressing underlying dietary factors affecting brain health and growth.

A New Chapter: Remarkable Results  After just 6 weeks of consistent care, Ryan’s mom saw noticeable improvements. His was a normal pattern and has allowed him to unlock more advanced skills such as beginning to try to walk and is able to transfer objects from one side of his body to the other with ease.

Some of the key changes included:

  • Normal Crawl Patterning
  • Reduced Eczema
  • Unlocking of new milestones such as walking

Life-Changing Impact

Today, Ryan is thriving. He is walking, running with no problems at all and to make things better he has even caught up completely with all his milestones. No longer delayed. The entire family feels the impact of these changes, with a sense of hope and excitement for the future.
