Chronic Pain

Comprehensive Care for Adults Living with Chronic Pain

Chronic Pain:
Break Free from the Pain Cycle

You’ve lived with pain for months—maybe years. You’ve tried medications, physical therapy, injections, and maybe even surgery. Some treatments helped temporarily, but the pain always comes back. You’re tired of being told “this is as good as it gets” or that you’ll need to manage pain for the rest of your life.

At Arise Functional Health, we don’t believe in just managing chronic pain. We believe in addressing the neurological and physical factors that keep you trapped in the pain cycle—and creating the foundation for lasting relief.

Supporting Adults with Chronic Pain

  • Have tried everything—medications, PT, injections, surgery—without lasting relief
  • Want to avoid surgery or are looking for alternatives before considering surgical intervention
  • Are tired of medications and their side effects, and want a drug-free approach
  • Understand that real healing takes time and are ready to commit to a comprehensive 6-month program
  • Are looking for root-cause solutions rather than temporary symptom management
  • Have been told “there’s nothing more we can do” but refuse to accept a life defined by pain

Whether your pain started with an injury, developed gradually over time, or appeared without clear cause, we’re here to help you break free from the cycle.

Together, these therapies work synergistically over time to help your nervous system "unlearn" chronic pain—creating lasting relief rather than temporary symptom management.

Understanding Chronic Pain

Chronic pain isn’t just an injury that won’t heal. It’s a complex neurological condition where your nervous system has learned to amplify pain signals—even after the original injury has healed. Your brain’s pain pathways become hypersensitive, creating a cycle that traditional treatments can’t break.

We work with adults experiencing:

  • Chronic back pain that limits your daily activities
  • Persistent neck pain affecting your work and quality of life
  • Headaches and migraines that disrupt your routine
  • Neuropathic pain causing burning, tingling, or shooting sensations
  • Fibromyalgia creating widespread pain and fatigue
  • Joint pain making movement difficult and uncomfortable
  • Failed back surgery syndrome where surgery didn’t provide the relief you expected
  • Pain that “moves around” or doesn’t have a clear structural cause

The challenge? Most treatments only address symptoms or structure—not the neurological reprogramming needed to break the pain cycle.

We go beyond standard X-rays and "you have arthritis" explanations to identify the real factors keeping you stuck.

What Our Patients Experience

While every patient’s journey is unique, many adults in our chronic pain program report:

  • Reduced pain intensity—from debilitating to manageable, or in many cases, complete resolution
  • Improved mobility and function allowing them to move without fear or limitation
  • Better sleep quality no longer disrupted by pain
  • Reduced or eliminated medication use as their nervous system heals
  • Return to activities they’d given up—exercise, hobbies, playing with grandchildren, or simply living without constant pain
  • Improved mental and emotional well-being as the burden of chronic pain lifts

These improvements build progressively as we support your nervous system in breaking the pain cycle and establishing healthier patterns.

One Of Many Awesome Stories We Have

After suffering from chronic migraines for 18yrs with the last 2yrs straight of daily migraines, no medications worked and Botox lost its efficacy, I had to find the underlying cause of what was triggering my migraines. Since 12yrs old I’ve been on medications ranging from opioids to antidepressants to anticonvulsants to muscle relaxers as well as a plethora of doctor’s visits, 2 sinus surgeries, and a few scans. No doctor could definitively say what was triggering my migraines, I just had some kind of tension related migraines. With neurologists wanting to put me on more potent medications to try to mitigate the incessant migraines to break the cycle, a family member suggested I see a functional medicine doctor to figure out what was actually going. This practice was less than 10mins from where I lived and made an appointment right away. At the first appointment, after providing almost 2 decades of medical records, I was greeted with kindness and empathy. Dr. Larrington referred to the medical records I provided as well as verbiage used in the pre-visit questionnaire validating my feelings, perspective, and history. We also went through in depth manipulation testing taking over an hour to fully evaluate me. The second appointment I finally had an answer! After so long and getting to a point of such exhaustion and giving up on ever having peace, Dr. Larrington gave me hope for a CURE. My migraines were vestibular related caused by an initial inflammatory autoimmune response as a pre-teen which caused my vestibular system to develop incorrectly, making my brain work so much harder to maintain balance and perceive the world steadily and after so long I never realized I was constantly dizzy. Until I wasn’t. His chiropractic care and attention to detail during my initial testing tailored my treatment plan to ME. After the first day of my 26wk plan I didn’t have a migraine and felt more balanced and level than I have in so long. And since starting my treatment plan 18wks ago I haven’t had a single migraine and I am no longer on any medications! Thank you Dr. Larrington for literally changing my life!

Your chronic pain has a neurological component that hasn't been addressed. Let's change that. You don't have to accept a life defined by pain. There's another way.
